Where to use Home Automation?
Automation is usually installed during construction of a home/building but can be implemented in a pre-existing building,
usually in wireless form to eliminate the extensive wiring/cabling required.
Why use Home Automation?
Home automation has many uses such as controlling lighting, mood lighting, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, appliances,
security, etc. It is especially useful for the disabled or elderly where it can provide increased quality of life and privacy
for people that might otherwise require caregivers or institutional care.
How to connect the system
Automation may be connected through a computer network enabling control through a personal computer and can allow remote access
via the internet.
History of Home Automation
Home automation has been the backdrop of many science fiction and futuristic movies. Unfortunately the lack of competition between
vendors, complexity of the systems and incompatible standards have resulted in excessive prices which has limited automation to the
homes of the rich and famous.
